My Honest Review of Veet Ready‑to‑Use Wax Strips

Smooth Skin Without the Salon Price Tag

Let’s be real, being a woman can get expensive fast. Hair appointments, nails, skincare, makeup, clothes, the “just because” Target runs… it all adds up. And somewhere in that never‑ending list sits hair removal. Shaving is quick but never lasts. Waxing at a salon? Amazing results, but your bank account cries every time.

So I decided to test a middle‑ground option: Veet Ready‑to‑Use Wax Strips. Affordable, accessible, and supposedly beginner‑friendly. I grabbed a box, took a deep breath, and hoped for the best.

Spoiler: I was pleasantly surprised and have since returned to repurchase.

Why I Tried Them

I’m in my “I want smooth underarms, but pay off debt” era. Salon waxing is great, but $60+ every few weeks? No thank you.

I needed something:

  • Budget‑friendly

  • Easy to use at home

  • Long‑lasting

  • Not messy

  • Not requiring a degree in chemistry to figure out

Veet’s strips checked all the boxes on paper, so into my cart they went.

The Application: Surprisingly Simple

If you’ve ever used at‑home wax kits that require microwaving, stirring, testing the temperature, and praying you don’t burn yourself… this is not that.

Here’s what I loved:

  • No heating required Your hands warm the strip in seconds

  • They’re pre‑coated No sticky jars or wooden spatulas

  • The strips are flexible Which makes it easier to get around curves (knees, ankles, etc.).

  • The instructions are actually clear, which is refreshing.

I did my underarms (with the help of my sister) in under 15 minutes. The first few times, I tried to do it on my own. I found that to be a little difficult. I was able to wax my left underarm using my dominant hand, but when I needed to wax the other underarm, I wasn't able to wax that as well as I wanted. Having a buddy to help is amazing!

The Results: Smooth, Long‑Lasting, and Worth It

The results genuinely impressed me. My underarms were smooth and lasted about a month. The box advertises "up to 28 days of smoothness," and it was accurate. Of course, this depends on the speed at which your hair grows, but with a box of 40 for $10, I would just wax again a few days later. The instructions do indicate not to wax again within 72 hours or use deodorant or anything immediately afterwards, so waxing after a shower is ideal and when I do it, generally.

A few things I noticed:

  • You’ll probably need two passes on certain areas if your hair grows in different directions.

  • The included finishing wipes are amazing. They remove leftover wax and leave your skin soft. My only gripe is that I wish they gave more than 4. With 40 wax strips, they could have given more, but I have found that baby oil works just as well.

The Money‑Saving Angle (Because We Love a Good Deal)

Let’s talk numbers. A salon wax: $50–$80. A box of Veet strips: usually $10. Smoothness that lasts weeks: priceless.

If you’re trying to stretch your beauty budget without sacrificing results, this is one of the easiest swaps you can make. It’s giving “soft life on a smart budget.”

Would I Recommend Them?

Absolutely—especially if you’re:

  • A busy woman who wants quick results

  • Someone who hates shaving

  • A budget‑conscious queen

  • New to waxing and want something beginner‑friendly

  • Tired of spending salon prices for something you can do at home

They’re not painful (well… not that painful), they’re convenient, and they genuinely work.
